Notes

Use maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey to keep bowls strictly vegan., Certified gluten-free rolled oats and gluten-free labels on protein drinks and granola ensure gluten-free versions., Swap almond butter and almonds for seed butters and toasted seeds for nut-free versions., Chia puddings and soaked muesli bowls can be prepared ahead and stored covered in fridge for 3 to 5 days., Chocolate smoothie bowls are best fresh but can be frozen and scooped like ice cream or made into popsicles, thanks to frozen bananas., During first hour of soaking chia, stir or shake a few times to prevent clumping., For creamier oats, soak longer or use slightly warmed liquid before chilling., Add extra protein or calories by choosing higher protein drinks, adding protein powders, nut or seed butters, or more seeds., If smoothie is too thick, add more protein beverage or water and blend until smooth., High-powered blender helps achieve creamy smoothie texture.
